What we collect

Every award in Awardica is researched from the ground up. We gather application requirements, deadlines, eligibility criteria, fee structures, judging methodologies, and publisher backgrounds. We keep them current as awards evolve year over year.

We don't scrape and forget. Each record is reviewed editorially before it reaches you. The goal: give every marketer the intelligence a specialist researcher would spend days assembling, in seconds.

How we verify data

Not all award data is equal. We use three tiers of sourcing and show you exactly which level applies to each award, so your confidence in the data matches ours.

Sourced from award

Every award starts here. Our team researches directly from the award's official website, application portal, and press materials. No third-party aggregators, no guesswork.

Awardica editor verified

A member of the Awardica editorial team has independently cross-referenced this award against multiple sources: press coverage, industry databases, and direct application experience. Editor-verified records have the highest data accuracy in our system.

Publisher verified

The award publisher has directly confirmed key details with Awardica: deadlines, eligibility criteria, and application requirements. Publisher-verified awards are the gold standard — the people running the award have vouched for what we show you.

Editor warning

Pay-to-play flagging

Some awards exist primarily to collect entry fees, offering little recognition value in return. When our editors identify a program as misleading or predatory, it gets a prominent warning on its detail page and is excluded from AI-matched recommendations.

Verification affects your match scores

Our match scores are about fit and confidence. Publisher-verified awards give us higher certainty about eligibility criteria, which means tighter, more accurate matching. Unverified awards get a wider uncertainty window so we don't send you after something you can't actually enter.

How verification improves matching

Sourced from award

Match score based on published criteria. Accurate in most cases, updated each cycle.

Editor verified

Criteria cross-checked. Reduces risk of outdated or misread eligibility requirements.

Publisher verified

Criteria confirmed directly. Highest confidence match, tightest scoring window.

How we build and maintain the database

01

Discovery

We identify awards through industry publications, publisher directories, PR Newswire, and user submissions. Every candidate is evaluated for relevance and credibility before entering the review queue.

02

Research

Our editors research each award end-to-end: application portal, eligibility rules, fee structure, judging process, and media coverage.

03

Rating

Each award receives a 0–100 prestige score, a 5-star quality rating, and a pay-to-play risk assessment based on selectivity, judging transparency, and entry fee relative to recognition value. Awards identified as misleading are flagged and suppressed from AI recommendations.

04

Ongoing maintenance

Award deadlines, eligibility requirements, and fees change every cycle. We review every active award at least annually, more frequently for high-prestige programs, and flag anything that may be outdated.
